The Photographers’ Gallery is holding an auction at Christie’s on Thursday 17 February 2010 to help raise funds for the construction of a new building in the heart of London’s West End. Up for grabs is work by Rineke Dijkstra, Tracey Emin, Maryin Parr, Bill Brandt, Corinne Day, Terry O’Neil and more.



Beg, Steal or Borrow, is an online auction held by students at The University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. They have been getting in contact

 with notable designers and illustrators, to Beg for work, in order for it to be auctioned off. The money that they make will go towards funding their end 

of year Graphic Communication degree shows taking place at the University and at D&AD New Blood 2009.

The auction will begin on 21st March and last for ten days only, ending 30th March.

The Design Auction 2009. An event organised by students and tutors from the third year BA Hons Graphic Design degree course at the Lincoln School of Art and Design.

This event ran for the first time last year in Lincoln and was a huge success, raising significant funds for the 2008 end of year show. Contributors included Experimental Jetset, SEA Design, Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister and Why Not Associates amongst many other high profile names. Last year their ‘rebel’ auctioneer was Jonathan Barnbrook.

This year they are repeating the event in collaboration with St. Bride printing library in London. They will be hosting the event on the 19th March at 5pm. Half of the funds raised will be donated to St. Bride. This year they have a new ‘lowercase’ auctioneer, Michael Johnson of Johnson Banks. They inform us that they have already received donations for lots from Hudson Bec, YCN, Studio8, Magma, John McConnell, Spin and This is True North, with many more to follow…
