Six is an independent creative consultancy based in the UK, providing Design & Art Direction for brand, print and screen.
We concentrate on strong ideas, solid research, clear strategic thinking and attention to detail, and we choose our partners carefully in order to maintain the high standards of innovation and creative excellence that are central to our studio practice.

We are currently seeking to establish a relationship with an experienced front-end developer, either individual or small company, for collaboration on a range of web projects. Our eclectic client list offers diverse opportunities for expression, and we expect all our partners to approach this with the same energy and dedication as we do.

Working with Six as a front-end developer, you will become the interface through which our designs are realised. You will be an integral and vital part of the creative process, informing the project from concept to delivery, and working with our designers and art directors to create beautiful, usable interactive design.

• Strong understanding of web standards / cross-browser compatibility

In addition, it is of vital importance that your eye for detail is as exacting as ours. You should be able to take a design from Photoshop / Illustrator and faithfully render the aesthetic as an interactive experience.

You should also have the initiative to take a proactive approach within a project — we consider the development stage of any project to be an integral part of the design process, and as such we rely on our development partners to take an active part.

As an external supplier, we also expect you to be experienced in putting together quotes and specifications on a project-by-project basis, as well as being available if necessary to attend pitches, briefings and meetings with prospective or current clients.

In return, we offer a long-term opportunity to work with good people on good projects, in an creatively charged environment designed to allow everyone involved to achieve their best. If this sounds like your kind of thing,

Apologies for the lack of blog updates recently, we’ve found ourselves in the middle of various Press Passes, Pitches and Photo-shoots over the last two weeks, so it’s been hard to keep up. Normal service should resume this week. We will be updating the Six site shortly

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, normal service will resume shortly, but it’s been all go from work to pitches to passing our new promo piece on press, elements of which can be seen above.

Watch this space.

We would like to say a big thanks to everyone that linked up both the Blog and our New Site on Friday. Not sure what spurred off the big promo trail, but we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from the various posts. A massive thanks to Form Fifty Five, QBN, Computerlove, September Industry, Thinking For A Living, Change The Thought, Grafik Cache, Why We Rock, Visuelle for all their kind words.

On the eve of the Bank Holiday, we’re feeling particularly jolly today. This weeks task is “Arnie Lines”, and this is what we have come up with so far. Feel free to help us out.

Amazing what you can find in your attic.
Another one for our six collection.

We’re obsessed with everything Six and as a result have set up a Flickr account dedicated to the number in all its various forms. This is my first contribution—”Broadbean Paste” packaging, found in a chinese supermarket. More to come.
